Arti Gras

This weekend in March was an Artsy Fartsy one. {the kind I like} I spent Saturday with my mother-in-law and daughter at an annual Floral Exhibition at a nearby art museum. It was incredibly beautiful and springy. Also this place smelled like a hot summer day in the garden. yes.

Sunday afternoon we went to Arti Gras, a large fine arts festival. Hosting some to die for watercolor paintings and pottery. There were MANY different kinds of art there, including a humble little piano recital going on in the corner.  >>>>>>Where we watched the cutest little boy, about six years old, get up on the stool and plunk out a slow but strong song. Looking up every 20 seconds to see that his dad (crouched down near the stage) was giving him a reassuring nod and smile. I can't believe this but
 I CRIED.
My mother-in-law definitely laughed at me a bit, but I think I just thought for a second that my baby would be giving me that same look someday, whether she was is on the piano bench, up to bat, or on the dance floor. I just cried out of excitement of that moment and how much that little boy trusted and relied on his parents. May God bless Jake and I to have that time with Ellamae and those moments to be proud parents and watch her grow into a little lady.

Although I didn't have time to paint myself and make a Lenten verse for you this week, I have soooo much inspiration from the weekend and my little notebook of ideas that I can't wait to paint and create. So stay tuned. I will probably crank out a couple this week.

Enjoy the photos from our Saturday at the museum:

Above Left: There were different trees filled with these wonderful hanging terrariums {I WILL be DIY-ing these!} Above Right: Beautiful floral borders surrounding the large windows everywhere. swoon.

Every little room had pretty arrangements. The one above reminded me of Easter.

P.S. A little side note, but if you haven't been watching it yet and are looking for a good tv series. It airs 8/7c, History Channel on Sundays. It is called The Bible. This was the second week but they aired the first preceding the second tonight, so they may do that next week too. (Its final episode is on Easter I believe) I love it, it is told in a story type manner with a little narration, but relates it as a true event as it was not just a story from a book. Check it out.

See you soon!
